Where do we stand with the Connector? What versions of QB do we know if it works with or does'nt work? |

Okay -- is anyone using QB2009 Pro with Connector? I'm at a dilemma -- Marcus says the program works up to 2007, that it SHOULD work with 2008, but they have no clue as to 2009 -- with that being the latest version, I can get that for $179 -- if I look for 2008, it's nearly $400! -- I have about 60 days to either stop being able to use the QB Connector or stop being able to use QB Payroll! |

Joe, this may not be much help and I am making some assumptions here, but we develop against QB using the Intuit sdk (for an application completely unrelated to e-commerce, BV or the connector).
Generally, the Intuit sdks are forward compatible in the sense that applications that work (or were developed) with an older version of the sdk will continue to work as is when a new one is introduced. That said, it does depend upon the exact method (there are some options) of integration used with qbXML being generally the recommended approach. My bet would be that if the connector works with an older version of QB (via an older sdk) it probably works the same with the latest release. If it were me, given the 60 days etc, I'd take the chance and get QB Pro 2009 and cross fingers etc...easy to say when it's not me taking the chance but I think the odds are on your side...hope it works out for you.

Thanks -- that does help! I may need to see about rolling back to the earlier version if I do have a problem, however. So the key, I guess, is backup - backup!! |

Joe, I sent you an email back on Dec 3 about issues with QB, but never heard back from you.

Dean,
Never got it -- sorry. I've never had an issue with Conenctor with Pro 2006 - just purchased 2009 and am going to do an install soon -- I may get a new desktop machine and wait to install on that, that way I have the 2006 on the old machine as a backup. |
