Does the ImportExport tool, BVC5-ImportTool.exe, export Products with variations/choices?
This is the product where, in the admin panel, on the Edit Product page there is red text advising the user the product contains product choices. Then clicking Edit Product Variations takes you to the page for editing the individual products.

No, it does not. This is supposed to be supported in the new import/export tool coming out with BV6, however.

BV 6 support XML import of products with variants and we're exploring other text based formats for import/export. BV 5 does not support flat file export of products with choices but the Web Services do allow you to create/export products with choices.

so what does that mean for upgrading a BVC5 store to BV 6?

The BV Commerce Migration Tool for Version 6 will import Products with variations from BV Commerce 5 and BVC 2004.
