The normal Grid view template that shipped with BV Commerce 5 (SP1 and earlier) does not display sub categories like the grid template in BVC 2004. Here is a new grid template that does show the sub categories like BVC 2004.

To install:
1) Unzip the archive into your /BVModules/CategoryTemplates/ folder
2) Go to your admin side and go to Content->Category Templates
3) Click the "Edit" button next to "Grid with Subs"
4) Set a default page size (6 is suggested) and click save

Marcus,
Could you please add some screenshots with these latest add-ons. I would like to see what they are before I try to install them.
Thanks,
Corneliu

The image below is an example of how we are using this new category template. It took a little CSS tweak to get the images and text to align, but it is exactly what we needed for this subcategory page.

This is a great option - although I have noticed one thing. The text alignment at the bottom of the images is "left". What would be the best method to ensure it was centred under the sub category image?

To center the text and image we added this to our css style sheet

/* Category Grid with Subs*/
#categorygridsubtemplate .record {margin:30px 0 0 0;width:195px;text-align:center;}
#categorygridsubtemplate .record .recordimage {width:195px;text-align:center;}

There is probably a cleaner way to write the code - I would be happy to hear from the experts. This worked for us, but you may have to adjust the margins and widths based on the image sizes you want to display in the grid.

Has this been added to SP2? It appears it hasn't.

Can this add-on be added to an SP2 site? ...don't want to mess around til I know it's OK.

When I added this to a site running SP2, I get the following error:

Aaron,

Go into Admin-Content-Category-(Edit)Gridw/Subs and set number of items.

Currently this is not compatible with SP3, this will be fixed with SP3.1
