Anyone have any clever suggestions about how to offer Gift Wrapping?
A Shared Product Modifier is OK, but we'd like to offer the customer a way to select several items for gift wrapping in one package.
Thanks,
Linette

Down and dirty... make giftwrapping a product and offer it as an "upsell item" at checkout. |

The problem with the extra product method is that it lacks the ability to easily assign it to a specific product in the cart. It's a lot to expect of a user to use the special instructions textarea for stuff like that. |

Gift wrapping can get as complicated as shipping. Which items, in which bundle, to which addresses...
Maybe if Andy has time.... |

Why not use a product choice? |

[2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007>We have a client who sells baby apparel and accessories. Multiple items are often purchased by a customer for showers, birthdays, and other special occasions. Sometimes, the customer wants all the items purchased gift wrapped together, sometimes they want some items gift wrapped separately, sometimes they want some items gift wrapped and others not.[/2]

[2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007>We'd like something with these features . . . [/2]
[2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007> 1. Offer the customer a way to add Gift Wrap on the cart page. Maybe a checkbox for Display Gift Wrap Options [/2][2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007>on the cart page. [/2]
[2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007> 2. Offer the customer a way to select the type of gift wrap - for example, Girl, Boy, Unisex, Birthday, etc - and write a gift message. Each gift wrap can carry a charge.[/2]
[2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007> 3. Let the customer select which items should be gift wrapped in each package. The gift wrap charge is not associated with a product, but rather with a package.[/2]
[2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007> 4. The customer's gift wrap selections must appear in the Order Details and the Customer and Admin Order emails.[/2]

[2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007>Angela . . . comments? It would be great if you could add to the list (or nix some these ideas.) Maybe BVC or a developer would offer a plugin. [/2]

[2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007>[/2][2]<SPAN class=823033614-12052007>This type of gift wrapping option is not unheard of! [/2]
