There are 2 warnings/errors in the message you posted: 1) the link depends on using a browser with javascript which reduces the accessibility of the page, and 2) the protocol scheme 'javascript' is not supported.
#1 is true. BVC5 depends on javascript throughout the application. Because of that dependency, a BVC5 site is not as accessible as a site that does not depend on javascript. That is a tradeoff you make when you use BVC5.
#2 appears to be due to a bug in the WC3 link checker. By placing "javascript:" at the beginning of the uri, the browser knows to interpret the remaining uri as javascript. The link checker should not have tried to "follow" the uri. |

Thanks Andy. I guess I'll get some figures on the percentage of people running with javascript disabled to fight my corner.
cheers

It is worth noting that every ecommerce platform I know depends on javascript being supported in the browser. I think it would be possible to create one that did not use javascript, but it would be very basic. On the other hand, the basic-ness would probably be good for accessibility. If accessibility is important to your customer base, then you can probably find a good platform by surveying other sites that cater to people with visual disabilities. |

That brings up a good question. How far back do you have to go to find a Browser that doesn't support Java Script? In my opinion, if that's the only error your are finding, you are doing a great job.
