Sometimes you just gotta hit the nail with a sledgehammer...
If it's worth anything, I'd consider a "Click to Purchase This Option" or something just a little more activating. You do get the hand when you hover but I'm still shocked when I watch others in my world use websites...
Awesome success message! |

I think you're giving a mixed message. The background on hover says "Click to Purchase" and the confirmation message says "Your option has been selected! Click add to cart to continue."
'Click to purchase' didn't actually make the purchase.... Can you make "Click 'Add to Cart'" in the floating confirmation message more forceful (bold or orange or the button img) to emphasize the need to complete one more step to actually buy the product?
Otherwise, nicely done.
I'm wondering if you're going to keep the ootb drop-down? |

Matt... Mitch... yeah i just created the background late last night. Im going to get back at it in a few minutes with a fresh approach ;) I'd also just want to remind anyone that is looking at this.. it is not site wide. So far i've only done this for this specific product.
The response i got form customer's so far looking at this product is great. I should have it looking a bit better by the end of today with the proper language.
Oh yeah, the success message is from mootools too. I can give a link if anyone is interested...

Looks and works much better now. However possibly its better not to use flash plug-in for displaying the message but use javascript message box? |

Sorry was not correct. I was talking about alert javascript function instead of flash message box just because it works faster. Here is sample code http://www.mediacollege....ascript/basic/alert.html |

Well... i changed a few things again. I never really used customer choices to create product combinations before. So what I did was created some combinations with radio buttons. I was against radio buttons earlier because i didnt want all that "ordering information" to be listed as a bullet point. Product Combos solved that problem because i can list the important information as the radio button, and have the most important information change in the product name and sku accordingly. But i still have some products that have paragraphs of Ordering info that still needs to be displayed for the customer. It would look horrible wrapped in a radio button. Aaron suggested using another field for each radio button, but then realized, where were the fields for each radio button going to come from? It wasnt OOTB. Ofcourse with product combos you can change each short descript ion and long descript ion, but i dont think that wouldn't totally solve our problem. SO... I solved that by adding another field to the product table in the database. Then I added that field to be used with each product combination, just like the short and long descript ion. That field will show up under the options with custom text for each product combination. Check it out here: http://www.medsupplier.com/burdick-atria-3100-ekg.aspx
