I'm working through the themes. I've gone through the documentation and am now editing the Print Book Black theme. I'd like to take the four links in the header and add them to Column 1. I'm thinking a content block would be appropriate...???
Can someone point me in the right direction?

Use the 'Side Menu' content module to recreate the link menu via the BVC5 Content Admin. |

Easy enough. What about the sign in/sign out link (how to handle the dynamic text in the title)? And what if I still wanted them displayed horizontally instead of in a vertical list?

You only want the signin/out link on the front page? |

No, I'd like to have the Home, Signin/out, Your Account, and Service link on each page.

Then I'd suggest doing it in the header, just move it to the bottom. Is that what you're looking to do? |

I'm going to get rid of the image on the main page (#sitebanner ???), and move some navigation around, so the spacing between the header and column 1 wont be a problem. If I could move the header to be in line with column 1 instead of stretch all the way across the top, that would be perfect!

Cliff, I have a quick CSS question... what is the best way to create drop shadows for text, form fields, and objects in CSS? I've read several articles that all seem to have their own ideas but I can't seem to get any to work. Here's probably the best article I've come across for text drop shadows: http://www.designmeme.com/articles/dropshadows/I'm trying to add a drop shadow to the header titles. (...I know drop shadows are a faux pas in most cases; however, it is appropriate in this design...)

For text, I don't do anything with drop shadows unless I'm using an image. It isn't worth it, and won't even work in IE7 that I know of.
For most everything else, like form inputs, I generally use background images unless the goal is simple enough to use borders. |
