I wanted to whip up some buttons in the Theme Builder but I can't get it to output anything more than the base CSS file and the preview image.
I noticed that it was announced in 2003 - so it might be BV2004 specific?
Is it expecting some directory structure to use?
I hate to bombard with questions ... I did a search on the forums for "Theme Builder" et al and came up empty handed.
Thanks guys. |

Hello,
I believe the theme builder is obsolete now. It was for a version of BV previous to BV2004. And all it did was modify the CSS. I dont think it even had an ability to create buttons. None the less ,it does not work with either BV2004 or BVC5.
If you are using BVC5 they include the Photshop button files. You can easily open those in Photoshop and modify them.
Thanks,

Jeff77, Please start new threads/topics when asking for specific assistance. Don't even think about creating a new theme until you understand the basic workings of the software. Start with one of the canned themes and adapt it, then create a new one if you must. Read the forum's posts going back about a year, there are answers to most of your questions already posted. This is a marathon, not a sprint. http://www.bvsoftware.com/bvcommerce5manual/You'll need to watch the videos (very helpful, a must watch) with IE6 or 7. The BVC4 manual is very helpful too, many controls work the same and the 4's manual is searchable: http://www.bvsoftware.com/bvc2004/manual/Also, we're all educated adults here - Proper spelling and punctuation is required, plz. |

MitchA,
Can I create a custom theme that is not a CSS based layout, but one that uses tables? If so, is there more info on this anywhere?
Thanks!

Can you??? Sure, but I wouldn't want to do that much work.
Don't swim upstream, use CSS. Tables are so 2004. |

Mitch,
Thanks for the advice. I think you are right. Would you be available to help create this custom theme? If so, let's connect and discuss your terms, pricing, etc.
Thanks!

Nooooo my freind..... I know just enough CSS to painfully shove stuff around on my own site.
There are a few names that BVC can give you. If you have a reasonable budget OR the time, you'll get a great looking site. |
