Product list - catalog dump - in an excel style spreadsheet

The only time I tried to deal with a data-dump was 25 years ago and it didn't go well. I'm hoping things have gotten a bit easier....
I'd like to create a list of products in a spreadsheet. Prod name, SKU, MSRP, Site Price, Manufacturer, ....basics.
Anyone do this? Perhaps you could share a few instructions -in slow motion- for those of us who don't do this very often????

hey mitch, grab the import/export tool: http://forums.bvcommerce.com/default.aspx?f=84&m=43101 Follow the steps, select export. It will download as a tab delimited file. Save it to your desktop, open as excel sheet. |

Thanks Matt, I'll have a look at this. I wasn't thinking about using a sledghammer to swat this fly, but if it works... |

lol...i'll usually say its like bringing a backhoe when all you need is a shovel...
once in excel you can do some sorting and such to get exactly what you need, i'm sure you know this. using the export tool like this is great for generating product feeds, inventory management, pricing updates, etc.. |
