We are attempting to build functionality within BV that will allow us to assign specific EULA language sections to a product variant.
So, for instance we have a products that are actually source code and the parameters of the license for these "products" change, based on how you intend to use that code. So, we set up a bunch of product variants that reflect the different license types (academic/research use, internal commercial use, Commercial - embedding the code in a product that depends on the code for its functionality, etc...)
The problem is that we have different language, in certain sections of the license agreement, depending on the product variation, so we want to be able to have an admin choose from multiple, stored, pre-written, sections and apply those sections to to a product variation.
Anyone have any idea how this might be accomplished?
<OL> <LI>product <UL> * product variation </UL> <OL> <OL> <LI>license type <UL> <LI>Language sections <OL> <LI>Section 1 ((inserted)) <LI>section 2 <LI>section 3 * Section 4 ((inserted)) </OL></LI></UL></LI></OL></OL></LI></OL>

Though it sounds tricky, I suspect it would be a pretty straightforward customization. If my understanding is correct, then you would need to build a many-to-many relationship between your product variations, and the language sections that would be displayed for that particular variant (which represents a EULA). This would require a customization to the Admin interface to give you control of the language sections per variant.
How are the language sections used? Are they displayed on the product page? Do they modify the downloaded product? This would have to be implemented as well. |
