How do I embed a flash movie on my homepage? Ive tried several times and all the site displays is a blank white square.

How are you trying to do it? You should be able use an HTML Content Block to add your <embed> code. |

I tried to do the embed tag and thats where i can into the error. Ive been using dreamweaver and it works in the preview but when i copy the code it doesnt work.

Which version of DW are you using? I know that CS5 adds a script that will you to add custom content between a <div></div> if the user's browser doesn't support flash. If that script has not been uploaded to your server and or pointed correctly you will just see a blank space on the website, but it will look correct locally in DW.
I use a similar version of this script. It's nice because it allows you to point the customer to the adobe page to download flash, show a static image in it's place or whatever custom text you want to show to browsers without flash.
