Hello,

I need to integrate a way to zoom into the high detail catalog images, and been looking into Zoomify, http://www.zoomify.com/

It seems it integrates easily into a hosted ecommerce package Merchant, I wonder if anyone has used this technology on a BVC store.

Below is a partial demo as how it works, unfortunately it does not complete the integration process... <U>

You might check with Avecom Group, they have something like that which automates zooming on product images in BVC 2004. Not sure whether they have something in the works for BVC5.

Thank you Cliff !!

I hope they do, will contact them tomorrow an will post their answer here.
( I do not see any notices about a new release on their page )

Just in case a new version is not released anytime soon...

I've just got the link to the rest of the tutorial ...

I know these are two different animals, but this other lesson finalizes the explanation as how to incorporate zoomify into a hosted ecommerce package.
Its an affordable and easy to use application making very easy the production of zoomable files.
All we need is basically a link to an html folder named the same as the medium size image.

The question is how to produce this link automatically in BVC5, showing a 'zoom in' link under the product image.

Since I am not familiar with version 5 capabilities, (plug ins, etc), I'm hoping a more experienced user watching these tutorials realizes a way to incorporate this technoligy on bv.

Anyone up for the challenge ?? :-)

Looks pretty neat. Though following the yellow circle made me a little nauseous.

That doesn't look like it would be very difficult at all to work into bv. You would pretty much do the same thing that this person did in Miva merchant, only with a BVC5 product template. In fact, you could certainly copy one of the current templates and add a few lines of code in to get the link. The only difficult part would be the uploading of the zoomified images. But if you didn't mind uploading those manually then it would probably be a "fairly" simply modification.

Zooming in IE7 isn't hi-rez, though, and it zooms the entire page. The idea behind a Flash zooming tool is that it starts with a very large image, often applies it to a grid, and does it's work from there.
