It would be nice to have a logging system that tracks what each admin user does. Say for instance, "john" logged in and change a product.

"john" updated product id: 1234-1111 at 11:30am on 01/31/2007.

Then "john" changed a category page:

"john" uppdated category id: 213 at 11:45am on 1/31/2007.

I know that sorta feels like a "big brother" scenario, but for troubleshooting purposes, we could see who and what the user changed. I have some CS people who sometimes forget what they changed and it sometimes creates problems of "who done it".

Its definetely not a BV issue, but maybe could shed some light on a mod for this or something... It is really for stores with multiple users logging in and updating the store.

I like this suggestion.

The first thing(s) that come to mind are where it's stored, how much would it add to the database size (if stored in DB), and whether or not there's a setting to delete rows after a certain time period or the ability to delete individual rows? do we need to see changes that were made 365 days ago?

Yeah I have no clue how much space it would take up, say for a week or a month period of time. It would be nice to be able to export the log so that you can keep track for a longer period of time, but not take a lot of space. Just a 1st rough draft of a brainstorm i had... i had a problem earlier about some things that no one remembered what they did lol.

When you log on to Fex Ex Ship Mgr, it asks you if you'd like to "archive" past activities, or loose them.
I get this msg every month or so. Under 30 days, kept. Over 30 days, option to throw out.

One month seems reasonable for troubleshooting.
