Hi I was wondering if anyone had advice on shipping notifications. The customer at my store receives the order receipt, but does not get the shipping notification.

i made a change in the "shipping complete" workflow by adding "send shipping info to customer" but when I tested it, it doesn't seem to work.

can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I am having the same problem... not sure why it doesn't auto email the shipping update.

I was just working through this today. I wanted email sent to the customer as soon as I clicked on "Ship Package". I saw that emails would be sent to admin. I went to workflow and for "Package Shipped" it only had an update for Google checkout, So I added my own
Workflow step



Step Name: Shipping Email to Customer

Use Template: Shipping Update

Email To: To Customer



Tested successful.

Same issue for us . . . customer receives the order receipt, but not the shipping notification. How dicey is creating a new workflow? Is creating a new workflow as Todd describes easy to do in the admin panel (didn't see it) or do I need to seek outside help?

We're hitting this problem too. Any possibility that this has been addressed in a Service Pack?

Yes, we're investigating this issue for several customers and hope to have a hot fix or service pack fix available soon.
