Manually Creating a Popular Items List

Is there an easier way to do this or should we just use an HTML block and copy the existing top sellers formatting? For our promotional items business it makes no sense to use the existing format as it's using items versus dollars and all of our lower priced items end up ranking highest. Plus we would like to have some control over what is listed as most popular. Right now the low priced pens are dominating as they're the lowest priced items and people buy tons of them but some of our most popular items like the usb drives can't get on the list.

The list gets stagnant if you constantly have the same top sellers for months - might as well make a static block that shows the same product.
I'd just make a simple HTML content block and go with it and rotate three of the ten best sellers every two weeks or so. Save the code in a notepad file and cut/paste, takes about a minute. |

Yup, this is what we plan to do. It's not REALLY our top sellers, but the customers don't know that. It's more of the top sellers that we want. |
