I am looking to get a quote on some customization for use with either BV2004 or BV5.

I have a concert ticketing site that sells only downloadable tickets. The .pdf ticket that the consumer prints off has a bar code on it that represents their order number. What I am hoping to accomplish is to have the ability to log into the admin area (or similar) and wih a barcode scanner scan tickets as they are presented to validate them. This could be done where the scanner compares against the database order and once the ticket is presented and scanned it is written to the database so that it cannot be accepted again. If that person bought 2 tickets, the first 2 valid scans of that oredr number will be permitted.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Derek

Derek,

I've did several project integrating scanners with BVC :)
Are you sure you want to print the order number on the ticket? They are sequential so someone could very easily figure this out and start generating "valid" tickets :)

Thanks Corneliu,

No, I am not set on using the order number, that has just been the easiest way for me, an non programmer, to do it. The ideal sceanrio would be to have the system automatically generate a code to insert in the downloadable .pdf. Since I think that is a little more complicated the next best would be to have BVC generate some kind of unique number, other than the order number, to use in the .pdf.

I would certainly be interested in discussing with you further.

Thanks for your reply!
