A few quick tips to prepare for the coming onslaught of customers sporting brand-spanking-new browsers (it's about time): * IE7 has officially been released and will be an automatic update for Windows XP users by the end of the month, I believe. This means your logs will probably soon begin to show a lot of people using the new browser, so make sure your site is prepared. You can download IE7 now from http://www.microsoft.com/ie and begin testing your store(s).
* There are still certain CSS issues with the new IE7, so keep an eye out for any weirdness in your themes.
* You'll want to continue to test with IE6, for those who don't upgrade, but you don't necessarily require a separate computer for this, though that's probably the safest bet. You can get stand-alone versions of Internet Explorer 6, and older IE browsers, from http://browsers.evolt.org/?ie/32bit/standalone
* IE7 isn't the only new kid on the block. Mozilla is set to release a new full version of Firefox, which really has some great features that do a pretty good job at rivaling IE7. You can get the Firefox 2 (RC3) browser from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0/releasenotes/.
* If you upgrade to Firefox 2, you can get your wonderful add-ons and development plugins to work - in most cases - by installing the Nightly Tester Tools add-on from http://users.blueprintit.co.uk/~dave/web/firefox/nightly. |

It may not be completely up to date, but it's the closest I can find so soon after release. Well out of the top 10 advisories on Secunia FireFox has that most at 4. :) |

Top 10 in popularity (most viewed on the site), not severity, and many of them have been patched in the latest updates, not counting Firefox 2 RC3, which is what I use. I'm sure there will be many more. :)
I'm just glad they're already catching them in IE7. Hopefully MS is quick to respond. |

This site seems to be doing a pretty good job of tracking the CSS rendering problems that exist in IE7. It does not appear to have been updated since RC1, but many (not all) of the problems in RC1 still exist in release. sigh of relief....I went through every site I built over the last 6-8 months and a couple from before then, about 12 total...not able to find anything in any of the themes that is not as it should be. So that's a good sign for anyone worried, I'd say unless you did some really weird hacking you should be all good with no editing...and I actually did do some of the trickier things on a couple sites, still held up fine... |

Yeah, same here. I think, for the most part, if you've been working in Firefox and IE6 and can get everything to work fine in both of them without hacks, you're probably golden.
Though I am seeing larger sites out there with serious issues in IE7. This should be interesting. |

FYI, the IE Developer Toolbar add-on works with IE7: http://www.ieaddons.com/...9-4b67-aac3-e1b3e9749414It sucks compared to the Web Developer Toolbar for Firefox, but at least it offers some sort of functionality in IE for web developers and designers. |
