The public beta for Safari 3 (the super-fast Apple browser) was released today for Windows, so it might be wise to begin testing your themes in it soon. It could end up being one of the most important modern browsers due to it's speed and it's use as a platform for building 3rd party applications for mobile devices like the iPhone. http://www.apple.com/safari/ |

First thought was... oh lord! another browser to check!! But at first glance, it seems to behave the same as Mac Safari and Firefox. Gotta love the standards compliant browsers :)
Thanks for the heads up Cliff! I didn't realize the beta was out. |

I haven't verified this, but I'm assuming Safari Win is running the same rendering engine as Safari Mac, so this is pretty cool for allowing those designers who can only test on the PC (tsk) easy access to Safari, which has a pretty significant market share even before the Windows release at something like 5%. |

No problems for me, but I did notice that my mouse buttons don't work. I just assumed I needed to restart for them to kick in. |

I haven't had any problems yet running it on Vista, but yeah... beta. Extra mouse buttons don't work for me either, though I could probably make it do so with my mouse software.
First thing I did was go to Edit > Preferences > Appearance and set the font smoothing to light; the default was a bit fuzzy. |

Researchers find Security flaws in Safari for Windows http://searchsecurity.te...sid14_gci1260467,00.htmlSeems that there are some series security flaws in Safari for Windows. Early Beta adopter should beware Rick

Also note that this isn't like testing in the current popular Safari browser, which is at version 2 and has some display differences and quirks as opposed to Firefox (win/mac) or IE7. You'll still need a Mac for that, and so early adoption for that reason is pointless. But in preparation for Safari 3, it gives good insight; so far I'm seeing no display differences, which is nice. |

Thanks for the link. As Wanita stated above, it is nice to see that Apple is working within the W3 standards. Makes life for designers a lot easier. No one enjoys redesigning a site 4-5 different ways. |
