We're working hard on Google Checkout for BV Commerce 5. This will be a FREE addon for existing BV Commerce 5 customers. It will be ready when we're satisfied that the integration is working up to BV Software's standards for excellence.

Marcus and team: Good job. Looking for this nice add-on and hope to start saving on the Google Adwords kick back since we spent about $6000.00 a month with them... :jumpin:

Service Pack 2 will include Google Checkout and should be ready near the end of this month. We are trying to get it out as soon as possible but want to test very well to make sure it is rock solid.

The service pack 2 is out with Google Checkout and that is great. You guys didn't mention that we would have to wait for SP2 in beta before we can install it into the systems we purchased way back. Not sure what we do with SP2 BETA right now other then play with it. When will SP2 be available in a patch so we can actually implent it and use it? Google Checkout was available for BV4 so BV5 goes without for the first several months. I wouldn't recommend purchasing a shopping cart such as BV Commerce until at least several months after it has been released. By the time all the plug ins are available and bugs are fixed BV 6 will be out. Some how we fell for the postive review some magazine gave for shopping cart of the year. Problem is that a test can be great but what a magazine review doesn't tell you is all of the problems you will have such as customizing it. The magazine doesn't ask for a roadmap or documentation manual and doesn't try to customize it as part of their review.

BVSport,

Service Pack 2 is in beta testing right now. We are letting any BVC5 customer try out the beta of the service pack so that we can make sure it works well for all of our customers. Right now we are seeing SP2 run very well on our machines but we need feedback from merchants who are running in a variety of environments to be sure.

Yes, once the beta testing is complete (in a couple of weeks or less) we will provide service pack 2 as a full copy of the software and as patches to upgrade existing stores.

No, BVC 2004 never supported Google Checkout which was only made public in August of last year by Google. We didn't have any information on Google Checkout until just before the launch of BVC5 so I think that including it for free in SP2 in less than 6 months is a pretty good thing.

We provide online demos and downloadable trials of BV Commerce 5 for any customers who have concerns or questions prior to purchasing. Also, we'll be happy to answer pre-sales questions by phone and email so don't hesitate to speak with us. Every new application is going to have bugs of some kind. Early adopters make a trade-off for running the latest technology as soon as possible. Service Pack 1 was released in November and Service Pack 2 will be out in just a couple of weeks. At this point Service Pack 2 fixes every level 1 and level 2 bug in our database.

Marcus,

I've really pleased to see the Google checkout feature in SP2, do you have any plans to add GBP as a currency option (there's a dropdown for currency option but currently only USD can be selected) or is there something I can do to ad GBP to the gateway myself.

Google Checkout launched in the UK not long ago and like many other members here I spend a fair bit on Adwords with them meaning I'd get free payment processing on GC transactions. It'd be great to benefit like US members do.

Matt,

We'll check with Google and see what we need to do to support it. We're expecting a minor update to the Google Checkout code in the near future to resolve a couple of minor issues anyways.

Hi Marcus,

The GBP currency support for Google Checkout in BVC5 is critical to us.

Any update on when you will release a patch to add this support ?

Thanks

Hello,

I was checking out the latest hot fixes and here is the only google related fix I could find. What is the issue your having with google checkout, it can be difficult to configure.
