Where in the control panel do you do this. I can't find anything in the documentation.

1) Go To Options->Workflows
2) Click "Edit" on "Checkout Started"
3) In the task dropdownlist choose "Require Login Before Checkout"
4) Click the "New" button to add the task to the workflow
5) If you have any other tasks in the workflow you may need to move the new task to the top of the list.

I followed these instructions. However, when I go to place a test order (when not logged in), and try to create a new account by clicking the "Create New" button, I get a "Confirm Password Change" dialog. Any idea why? I've attached a screenshot below cdakz attached the following image(s):  RequireLogin.GIF (43kb) downloaded 64 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

Just figured it out! It's browser behavior, not the website!
That "Confirm Password Change" dialog is being generated by FireFox 2.0.
When I use IE 7, all is well.
