Currently we are running BVcommerce 2004. We are considering upgrading to BVcommerce 5 but, we are also considering just starting a second store all together.
We have a dedicated Windows 2003 server with several websites, I'm was wonder if it is possible to run both MSSQL 2000 & MSSQL 2005 Express at the same time without conflicts? We are currently running MYSQL as well but have no problems running both MSSQL 2000 & MYSQL.

Is anybody currently running both BVcommerce 2004 & BVcommerce 5 on the same server?

You can run them on the same server but honestly it's a whole lot of overhead for one server. I would just load SQL2005 and migrate the 2004 stores over. BVC2004 runs great on SQL2005.

What is involved in migrating the database over? I have never done any type of SQL migration before.

Well it's a bit more than what can be covered here (there has been full books written on it - lol).

Basically get full DB backups of the 2004 DB's. Restore them to the 2005 DB. Assign user logins and the perms required and sherzamm nothing to it.

Normally the host would help with all this.
