From merchant regarding BVC 2004 Checkout:
"On the Step 1 page – Phone Number is Required, but the system seems to ignore this?" |

Hey Cliff.
It looks like it's being ignored on the BV2004 Checkout, but not the single page checkout. Are you seeing something different? |

I haven't tested required fields in the single-page checkout, but it definitely isn't properly requiring the field in the BVC 2004 checkout. |

We are using One Page Check Out and require a phone number. It has been working for us so far.

Hello,
So for pre sp2 sites running using the bv2004 checkout, is there a fix so it can validate required fields in the orders?
Thanks, Joe |

We're using One Page Checkout and many times the phone number is missing, although we require it. It gets annoying trying to edit orders, as we have to input some kind of phone number. |

Hello Angela.
This issue was fixed in SP2.
Which checkout process are you using? The only way I can see a user skipping this is by knowing and entering in the URL for the next page manually in the browser. |

I think on the one page checkout we need to have an customer email as well but I don't see it.

Angela, are they paying by PayPal by chance? There are times where not all information (including email) does not appear in the order when the customer paid by PayPal. Not sure if this is a bug of it's own. |

Looking at about 20 recent orders, it seems that most but not all of the Google and Paypal payments have missing phone numbers. Also, the State defaults to Alabama on the billing address.
Credit card order seem to be fine. |
