In our industry we sell a lot of our products as gifts. Therefore we have a lot of customers wanting gift card notes to ship with their items.


I wanted to run this by the forums to see if there was any other interest in a gift card entry form in the shopping cart. This would be similar to the Special Instructions box that is already available. Adding the box is simple but getting the [[tag]] to work would take some customization or BVsoftware to add it to the next patch. You can then design a Print Template however you want the Card to look. If it was selected you could just print it out as a packing slip for your order.



This would save us a ton of time hand writing cards for our customers not to mention the sloppy handwriting of some of my customer service people. :smilewinkgrin:



Let me know what you think and maybe BV would like to add it for all of us.

I would want a gift card box for each product. Even though I make and or have in stock most of the products, I have other specialty products and low volume products drop shipped. A sale with multiple products may have some requireing gift cards and some without, while the dropshipper will supply one for their products (also gift wrap).

Currently, I just have people put in what they want in a comment box, cut and paste the words into a personalization software and print a photo gift card, 4 x 6 and send with the order.

Everett are you looking for some part time work? You can write all my gift cards for me if you want. Just to keep that personal touch. And here I thought even offering gift cards was a personal touch. :turn:
