Error on deployment - Object reference not set to an instance of an object - Global.ascx

Hi I'm trying to deploy to a live server. Everything works fine on my development machine (XPPro, IIS 5). I'm deploying to a new dedicated server running Windows 2003 Server, IIS 6. The live site has been configured to run in its own application pool and I have set the necessary folder permissions. On attempting to log into the admin area I get an Object reference not set to an instance of an object error as in the attached file. I've posted this as a support case but if anyone can help in the meantime I would be most grateful. thanks Simon File Attachment(s):  Err.txt (4kb) downloaded 72 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. It's frustrating when everything works on your test machine but doesn't on your host. I'm thinking that you should make sure the connection string in your web.config works. Most deployment errors I've run into are due to the connection string not being set up right. The most common error I've run into due to connection string is "cannot find table 0"

I updated to SP2 but that was not the problem. Oh - beware of us amateurs - a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. I had for some unknown reason changed the name value of the Bvc5Database in the web.config file on the live site to [MyDatabaseName]Database. Changed it back and all is well. Sorry to waste your time
