Ok! Here is what I did.

If you remember my offers issue, I wanted to give a 10 percent discount when the customer purchased 2 or more different clinics (each with a Quantity 1). The system doesn't allow this, however there was another bug in the offers which was fixed in SP2.

So I set up my workaround after my SP2 upgrade. The products I wanted to discount ranged from $179 - $499. If I pull the $499 one out (didn't really care to discount that one anyway) the range is from $179 - $259.

So I set up my offer as Quantity => 1 Order total => $340. Should work and does.

But:
When I place 2 different items in the cart where the Total before the discount is => $340 and the Total after the discount is < $340 the cart displays the items at their original price with the order total = the discounted total price. In other words, the numbers don't add to the Total.

When the Total after Discount => $340 the cart displays the items original price and the discounted price (as it should) and the discounted prices do add to the total.

Do you need screen shots?

It appears this issue was resolved with the other fixes we made, so this will be fixed with the hotfix. I just tested it and it works perfectly.

Actually, it appears that this issue isn't fixed, in fact it is an intermittent issue, which is why it looked fine for me. It only manifests itself under very particular circumstances. We will hopefully have a fix out for it in a few days. Sorry about that.

I didn't check it to see if it was intermittent. It looked pretty consistent to me.

It looks like an order (as in progression) issue to me. It seems to be doing all the math correctly but I'm guessing it is displaying (on the order) the individual item cost based the final order total instead of the order total before the discount. In other words, I think it is putting the item total back to the original amount because (after the discount) it is no longer eligible for a discount.

That probably all looks like gibberish.

But when I played with it appeared messed up anytime the order total ((order total before discount)(times discount)) < (order total needed for discount) when (order total before discount) > (order total needed for discount).

I've always felt computer logic was an oxymoron. It's like a Teenager. It always seems to do what it wants to do and doesn't seem to care what you told it to do.

Do you have a custom built store? I can send you the single line of code needed to fix the issue if you'd like. As far as a patch, that will probably be at least next week, we have a good bit of stuff going on here at the moment.
