I purchased a BV5 store months ago (to upgrade my BV4 store), built my test store, and customized it quite a bit. It has just set for months, while I waited for SP2. To be honest, I have pretty much lost any familiarization I had with the BV5 product, because it has been months since I have touched it.
I could have sworn that I had upgraded the BV5 test store to SP1, so I downloaded the SP1 to SP2 update tool.... but to no avail, the installation is failing because it says it doesn't see a valid SP1 installation at the install location.
MY Bvc5.Core.dll is version 5.0.0.619. This looks like I may be wrong about the upgrade... does this look like this installation has been updated to SP1?
Thanks Dean

Hi Dean, An SP1 store would have BVC5.Core.dll at version 5.0.0.750. You will need to perform the SP1 upgrade before upgrading to SP2. Thanks, Everett |

Ok.. I figured out what I had done previously. I had installed the 5.0 to 5.01 update. This update included a data and schema sql update.
My question: Do I still need to run the database updates that are included with the 5.0 to SP1 update, or should I just run the install files?
Edit... typo error

Ok... I guess maybe no one knows the answer... so should I delete the entire installation and start over?

Hey Dean, If you performed the 5.0 to 5.01 upgrade, and your site and database are currently at 5.01, you will need to run both the SP1 Site Patcher utility as well as the database upgrade scripts before attempting to upgrade to SP2. This includes the schema, data, email and workflow scripts. After the SP1 upgradeis complete, you can run the SP2 Site Patch utility that will apply you SQL scripts for you if you point it at your database. Thanks, Everett |
