Thank goodness for backups.
I found a potentialy devistating feature of the "Remove Site" feature of the BV Site Manager. I had about 10 websites in my Website dir. I then went to install a new site and by accident it was installed in the Root of this Website Dir instead of in a sub folder like all the rest. To correct this I use the remove site feature of Site Manager so that it would clean up the dir for me and remove the site that was located in the wrong spot.
Well for what ever reason the Site Manager decided to remove EVERYTHING in the directory. Gone. Poof. I assumed there was an install map that would tell the remove site feature what files to remove for that site? Oops.
Perhaps something to consider. |

The reason we did it this way was that people upload so much stuff into their sites and they create a lot of custom folders and stuff that if we were to just delete the items that we knew about then it would leave a lot for the admin to go in a manually clean out after you remove a site. We never really designed it for someone installing a site as a root of another site. We will look into it and see if we can figure out a good way to remedy the situation. |
