Gift registry is an important feature for the success of my website, yet is not currently a feature of bvcommerce, is anyone looking at developing such capability? Any suggestions on possible third party add-ons that could be used?

We are not aware of any plug-ins that offers a gift registry feature in BV Commerce 5.

Nick, I am very interested in how I can have a gift registry in BV5 as well. I have a client who is ready to purchase the store, only if this option/module is availble. Thanks.
