Hey guys, new customer to BV, setting up a new site, and I know I'm going to need to build some custom add-ons. I have some .NET / SQL dev experience and will be looking at developing these two things right off the bat and I'm sure others will follow:

(1) automated integration with shopping feeds to multiple comparison sites
(2) looking into developing an inventory sync with multiple sites

I can't find anything about developing for this product - so forgive me if my questions seem dumb...

Do I need the developer pack to develop any integrations at all? What exactly does the developer pack include? Would I need to re-compile all of the source code for these add-ons, or do you have tie ins to the product that I can reference my own .aspx pages and .dlls? What kind of customizations can be built on top of the workflow? I'm hoping that there's a workflow rule I can create for inventory adjustments to call a WebService on another site to adjust the inventory there too....

I'm looking for a very basic intro to developing on BV at this point, what my options are, what tie ins exist, etc. Maybe all of this is in the developer pack but this is not explained anywhere... thanks for the help - I look forward to developing some tools with the product! Thanks!

The Developer Pack is the source code for BVSoftware.* assemblies except Licensing and UPS. You do not need the Developer Pack to create add-ons. Here is an article showing how to create an Order Workflow Task. You can use it as a model for developing your inventory sync task,

Take a look at BV Software's Froogle Feed plug-in (BVAdmin\Plugins\BV Froogle Feed\) for one way to add an add-on (as a plug-in).
