Are there any large stores running on BVC5?
I have a potential store to migrate. It will need ALOT of cutomization, but that is ok.
Currently, we do 650,000 per month in sales, which equates to about 35,000 orders per month.
Are there currently any stores succesfully running this type of traffic?
Thanks!

Hopefully you will get some feedback on larger stores. Wanted to say something here. Back when development work was first started on BV, Marcus the owner asked for input from a number of us that had a good deal of experience with other applications. One of the main topics along with security was scalability. From day one BV has been designed to handle your stores growth and with the additional feedback you receive here I believe you will be comfortable with BV’s ability to handle your high traffic site. |

I would assume this is not a standard off the shelf package you are using now.
Not sure about the other hosts out there but we have BV stores with hundreds of thousands of SKU's thousands of orders and millions of users.
BV as an application is VERY scalable, however the devil is in the details. Do you load balance in the same facility, multiple facilities? Do you offload all SSL transactions through an appliance?
If you have a minute, give me a call and I can share some of the heavy hitter info with you and give you some idea of the types of issues you will run into. |

Nope, it's not. We are using a Commerce Package this is higher end. But, it's a warehousing/distro package first, and an eComm package second. Basically, it's a bunch of eComm Dll's that you can use to custom build a store with.
But, the migration is going to be a bigger packend (we are looking at MANY packages, but things like Great Plains, and SAP small business are the 'level' of packages we are looking at, and many others).
Of course, we are looking for something with eComm built in, but most likely we will add on. So, the interface with our ERP and the eCommerce will be of umost importance since it will ultimately be tied in with POS and some retail locations.
I brought BV up, since I have worked with it in the past, and do like it (BVC 2004).
I believe it's a great package, but since so many more are alot more expensive, it's easy to 'pass it by' simply due to low pricing, especially by those looking at software packages that haven't used it.
This is the first round of decisions, and we're looking at many options, but I wanted to make sure BVC was in the running, and if needed, we would be able to have some examples of stores doing our type of volume, which will grow in the next few years as well.
Thanks!
