I'm trying to set the correct product template to all products using the Product Batch Edit. Nothing seems to happen, the products are still using the old product template. Only when I go into each individual product's edit page and click 'Save Changes' or 'Update' does the product actually use the new template.

Do we need a 'Catalog Refresh' button in the settings to update the database correctly?

I believe the same goes for custom URLs as well as imported products and categories.

How big is your catalog? I have run into this once, but actually ended up using SQL Find and Replace because the catalog I was trying to update timed out due to the size of the DB. Depends on the server you are on. But SQL find and replace rocks for quick updates to your DB. Kudos to Marcus!

I'm not sure about the other options, however I have successfully used the batch update to select the product template for products several times without issue.

Cliff,

There is a post from April of this year that has to do with the batch change feature, and the file FloatModifierfield.ascx.vb file was mentioned in the reply to the post that someone at BV had updated. I got the new file from the post, and the update batch function seems to work now, at least at what I was doing. The title of the post is Product Batch Edit To Change Shipping Weight. If you cannot find it, let me know and I will locate, or I can just send you the new file.

Checked the database, the correct template was indeed assigned to all products. Any way to 'refresh' the products at this point to make all of them actually use that template, since the batch edit feature is worthless in this scenario without that ability? Relatively urgent.

Unfortunately, that didn't help. I think the new template is being set on the product, but it isn't being 'applied'. That is, unless I go into each individual product and save it.

My posts are out of order due to "moderation".

Still wondering if there's a way to make this work.
