Since I took one of my sites live, the event log has been filling up with the following two messages. The site name is www.ihats.biz, and I do not have any type of google checkout active. Does this look like something having to do with google searching the site, and something is wrong? Any advive is appreciated.

The messages are as follows:

I'm getting similar errors - 100 pages of them in less than a month.

Apparently, a bot is looking for pages that either don't exist or that I don't care to hear about or I'm seeing 'errors' that aren't really anything to worry about.

Any way to keep certain errors from logging in, or, is there a way to remove them so I can more easily see the ones that I can do something about?

I really don't need 100 pages of errors telling me that "'/CustProfileMain.aspx'" or that a now-defunct product does not exist.

I get: "The file '/Contact.aspx.vb' does not exist" plus 40 or 50 others with the same error message.

Honestly, I changed the name of a product, and I guess the /URL... How long am I going to be told it's 'page' no longer exists?

I'll repeat my request for better error handling here also.

Is this not working or not enough to knock off some of the 'hits'?

The error log is useless with all of this clutter in the way. Is there a type of error that we should be looking for? Maybe something important.

Glad to hear that someone else is seeing these, as I was talking with Applieidi.net, my host, all night last night trying to find out what could be done. Does BV know how we can resolve this over doing of errors, as BV 2004 never had this problem?

Was thanked: 1 time(s) in 1 post(s)
The error "Padding is invalid and cannot be removed." along with "WebResource.axd" has quite a few hits in Google,

Google search results

This one looks promising if your server is in a web farm. One person on another thread wrote that generating a new machine key solved the problem even though the server was not part of a farm.

At least two mention something about requesting pages via SSL with embedded content comming from both SSL and non-SSL sources, but I don't understand the issue well enough to know if that applies to you.

Andy,

Yes I saw all of the data, and I spoke with Appliedi.net about the settings and they confirmed all was setup fine on their end.

These are valid errors, but for the most part the only fix is if there was some way to only flag errors that were actually generated from the BV application. These errors for the most part have to do with google and other search engines either crawling the web site, or someone clicking on a link from somehere like Google, where the link is no longer valid. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but is the just of it.
