It seems the current way low stock is handled creates some confusion and limits the store owner.
1. Low Stock should report low inventory. Currently it does report low inventory it reports when a products "Out of Stock Point" is reached.
I think the purpose of this was that you could set your out of stock point higher than 0 so you don't run out of stock. However, the system treats this Out of Stock as the "bottom". The only choice I can see that would make sense to allow you to sell past your "low inventory" point is "Show Out of Stock but Allow Orders". However, you are not "out of stock" you are "low on stock" (assuming your "Out of Stock Point" is higher than 0.
Essentially by the time the low stock report is emailed to you, you are already at your Out of Stock level. It seems that we should have a nother field here called "low stock point" which is what actually fires the low stock report.

I started another thread on this last month plus talked with support about it, and it is something they said they were working on for SP3. |
