[3]I had an issue where either the payment gateway or someone downstream wasn't responding and as a result I lost a sale. I modified my current web site to allow the submission of the order whether the payment gateway was up or not (however, if it was up a credit card could still be explicitly declined). The order went into a "non authorized" status and I could deal with trying to capture the payment manually. Since I rarely had issues with people providing incorrect information or credit cards with limits not high enough I never had to contact the customer back to try to resolve payment issues - I just manually did the authorization before processing the order. Does BV commerce support this model?[/3]

BV Commerce 5 does offer the ability to capture orders even when the payment gateway is down or if a customer’s card is declined. These are options configurable by the store administrator.
