We are now live and when we search the back end for an order or use the search feature on the front end, the sqlservr.exe take the CPU utilization to 95% - 100%. I have 2 2.8Ghz Intel Dual Core Xeon Processors and 2.00GB of RAM. Any thoughts? http://www.FireFold.com/BVSoftware.jpgCGrouse attached the following image(s): BVSoftware.jpg (95kb) downloaded 73 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. While I cannot be sure this really has anything to do with the issue, I am curious what else is running on that server other than sql server? Your task manager is reporting 61 processes running, on the 2 test sql servers I have here and other servers I control, we have <35 processes running on the sql servers. I'm wondering if something is either installed wrong or if something is conflicting with the sql server process. One thing to check may be to look at the individual process cpu utilization when running your queries. If that doesn't point to anything, you may want to load up perfmon and monitor some of the sql server statistics. |

there are a few other basics running, but I figured this out.
The processer is fine when no one is in the back end. If we stay out of the orders on the back end it runs normal 2-3%
Once I click orders and then do a search for a perosn's order it hits the 99%
This machine is a beast and should handle everything without a hitch. |

Fixed!!! I am not sure how many on this forum are like me but I figured I would post the fix for this incase anyone runs into the problem. After importing the thousands of orders and users I had I forgot to reindex all of my tables. Makes sense right? Well at 2am things are never clear. So I have reindex the entire database and TADA, it is screaming along now.
Thanks to all with their imput. |
Thanks,
