I'm finding that tax exempt items are actually being taxed. I've attached the screenshots of a test that shows the tax setup, product setup, performance setup (no caching), and the order. This looks like a bug to me. dorian_borin attached the following image(s): checkout.jpg (40kb) downloaded 8 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

Your second image, Product setup, you've got 'Tax exempt' checked and 'non-shipping Product' checked. In the third image, Tax Setup, you've got 'Carge tax on non-shipping items' checked.
Is it taxed because it's a non-shipping product, or is it not taxed because it's a tax exempt product?
Apparently, 'Tax Exempt' has been voted off the island and Tax The Product won. If I were your store, I'd need an aspirin.
Note to BVC: There are a few places in admin where conflicts like this can occur. Perhaps in BVC6, ALL taxes, package bundling ("Merge identical items" vs "Ship Separately") etc. should be in only one place, on one screen. I know as software grows it can get messy, but chasing down and controlling logic conflicts like this one is why we invented computers in the first place. |
