The ReturnedQuantity on LineItem is ignored in all the operations.

I think a good way to do it is to have "OrderedQuantity" the quantity entered by the user, ReturnedQuantity the quantity returned and have "Quantity" only with a getter and be always calculated as "OrderedQuantity-ReturnedQuantity".

Then the system should also accept to have LineItems part of an order that have "Quantity=0" if the "OrderQuantity > 0".

Will this be part of SP3? It should :)
