Hello, I have searched the forum and the documentation and I think I missing something. Two issues - How do I get the UPS option to show up on the checkout page? I have the option set up in my shipping options, registered for online tools and have a UPS account but it does not show up, only the ship by order total. Second, I need shipping for orders upt $175.00 to be 5% and over $175 to be free. Is that posssible?

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Regarding the invisible UPS options, are any error messages related to UPS in the Event Log (BVAdmin > Options > Event Log)? Are you testing with an address in the "Ship to Countries" and "Ship To Regions" lists in the UPS shipping method you created? Which UPS services did you select to display in your shipping method?

Regarding your 5%/free shipping requirement, you can get close using the By Order Total shipping provider. You can add as many levels as you want. For example,

For order total of $10, charge $0.50
For order total of $20, charge $1.00
...
For order total of $175, charge 0

You can also handle free shipping for orders over $175 using an Offer (BVAdmin > Marketing > Offers > Shipping).

Finally, if you add my Shipping Rate Provider Suite to your store, you will get a new shipping provider that can charge exactly 5% (or just about any other calculation you can think of).

Thanks for the response. I set up the by order total as you described, that will work out fine - Many Thanks!

I checked the error log and did not see any shipping errors. I have attached screenshots of all pertinent displays as it is probably easier to show than explain.

I am using BVCommerce 5 SP2 and this is being viewed in both IE 6.0 and Firefox 2.0

The attached screenshots are:
checkout_logged_in.gif - This is what I see when I am checking out and logged into the system. Notice the lack of shipping options. When I am not logged in, it shows a message that says "enter your postal code to get shipping rates", but there is no where to enter the postal code.

check_shipping_rates.gif - This is the popup that I see when I click the Get Shipping Rates button at the cart level.

ship_main.gif - This shows the main page of my shipping options.

ship_by_total.gif - This is the Ship by Total method that is set up (Again, thanks for the suggestion!)

ship_ups.gif - This is my UPS shipping setup page.

Thanks very much in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

It looks like your UPS shipping method is not being called by BVC5. If the UPS shipping method was being called you would have a bunch of UPS informational messages in the Event Log (since you have turned Diagnostics Mode on), and the shipping cost estimator would have displayed a zip code box.

I do not see anything unusual in your setup, but you did not include the "Ship To Countries" or "Ship To Regions" in the screen shot. Make sure United States is in the list of countries you will ship to, and make sure the state you are testing with is listed in the Ship To Regions (both of these lists are at the bottom of the UPS shipping method you created).

If United States and the state are listed in the countries and regions you will ship to, then open a support ticket with BV Software so they can find out what is going on.

Andy, again thanks for the repsonse. I refreshed my browser, logged out and logged back in then went through a transaction and checked the error log. I do have some UPS informational messages on there now. I have included a screenshot. If I could bother you to take one more look, I would greatly appreciate it.

OK, the error is:

"Customer Classification Code is required with the requested Pickup Type"

So I edited my UPS shipping method so that the Pickup Type matched yours (Suggested Retail Rate), and ended up with the same error.

Try using Daily Pickup or Customer Counter as the Pickup Type. And please submit a support ticket to BV Software so that this potential bug is evaluated and tracked.
