Try purchasing the product. It will show up on the order receipt.

If you want a link to the file to appear on the product detail page, then just add the link into the product description.

File downloads are available in the customers account after purchase, since the feature is for selling digital products.

If you want to offer a free download on the product page, just use HTML in the long description to link to your PDF.

See this bit under the Add To Cart button for an example: http://www.coffeebeancorral.com...nfo.aspx?productid=SolBG

How did you upload the PDF? Did you use the Edit Product -> File Down Loads option? Or did you just dump it directly to the files folder on your web site?

I found I had to use the File Down loads option to get it to work. I think BV5 adds a Post and or Prefix to the file name. It is striped back off when the customer down loads the file.

Usually I use a HTML Area with the hyperlink pointing to the PDF file to open in a new window.

I'm betting if you upload the pdf from your computer using the built in browse feature in the File Down Load section of the Edit Product page, it will work like it is suppose to.

However, is there a way we can put a link to the download file (or another copy of it without the BV extentions) in the product order email to the customer without it showing up on the web product page? I have put several directions for finding the down load file because I don't think it is intuitive. It took me a while to find my copy of BV5 after I ordered it.

I have used Edit this Product ---> File Downloads...

I didn't know that I need to use custom HTML and link to the PDF file.

Thank you.

Michael, are you trying to sell the PDF and make it downloadable after the product is purchased, or just make it available for anyone to download from your product page?

The File Downloads section in the product admin is generally for selling downloads.
