I'm new to BV5, and am loving it so far. I have a problem that I'm hoping someone can help with.

Scenario:

Customer comes to store and adds items to cart. During the checkout process they are required to login and they do so. But they are a member of a price group who should be getting items at cost, not price, but since they added items to their cart BEFORE they logged in, they don't get their correct pricing. The pricing is never updated to reflect their membership in the price group.

If they login FIRST then add items to the cart, they get the correct pricing.

My old ecommerce product automatically updated prices upon login, and I assumed BV5 would do the same. But it's not.

I was thinking I could add a workflow or something, but not sure if that's what is needed, or if perhaps I'm missing something else.

Can someone help?

Anybody have any suggestions on how to best resolve this?

Thanks!

You are correct -- I have tested it -- have you opened a Ticket on this? This is a bug.

Yes, we are going to log this one as a bug. Currently we do not know of a workaround for this.

Thanks. I appreciate any updates to this. Client wants to go live next week. If I don't have to code some kind of workaround, that would be beautiful!

Thanks!

Justin,

What happens if you add the Pricing Group function to the Checkout Started workflow? I guess there might be a conflict if then the customer goes back to shopping and then hits the Pricing Group function from within the Product Pricing workflow (??)

Jazz,

can you just post a solution here for other folks -- unless it's not a "freebie" <G>
