I am about to replace my old BV4 site with my updated BV5 site. I want to maintain my excellent search engine rankings (#1 on many search engines for my most important key words) since I don't advertise any other way right now. What is the best way to go about redirecting the pages from the old site and not anger the great Google? From my research so far I would think that I need to create an .htaccess file in my root directory and, for each page, use 301 redirect code such as:

redirect 301 /custom-midnight-blue-belt.aspx http://www.kataaro.com/Midnight-Blue-Belt__49413.aspx

Is this the most effective way?
