I'm finally getting around to starting our BV5 development.
I had Bv install BV5 to my server and get it set up. It is working just fine.
So i'm ready to start developing the them and look of our site. I'm using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005 Express as recommended in the documentation. So when i try connecting my site using Visual Web Developer, I'm getting an alert stating that i don't have Frontpage extensions installed, and it won't connect. Am i doing something wrong or do i need the frontpage extensions installed? Installing them isn't a problem, just wanted to know if they are required or if i'm doing something wrong.
Thanks

Dan -- did you create your web first in Frontpage? that woudl be the only reason I could think of that it would be looking for them. can you create your store from scratch in VWD? |

I have not created a site. I had BV create and install BV5 for me to my host. I'm just trying to access the site via VWD, so i can get working on the theme.
Again, i'm sure i'm doing something not right, just haven't had the time to really sit down and work on it. |

Dan,
You will quickly learn that using VWD on a remote site is EXCRUITIATING -- I have asked several folks more technical than I about why it si so slow -- it takes 20 minutes to open my remote site in VWD -- but haven't figured it out, everyone just says to work on your site locally and then copy the files to remote. Have you tried turning off FP extensions on your site? |
