Search box on home page not working. All other pages work.

I just went live with my new BV5 site ( www.kataaro.com) and found a couple final glitches. Does anyone have a clue as to why the search box would work on all of my pages except the home page? Also, my search page has alignment issues that I can't pin down. The footer seems to be responding to a left margin and the right side appears to have none. If the seach page is calling for its parameters from the Content section of the CSS, why would it be so different from all the other pages working fine? Feedback on any other aspects of the site is welcome. Thanks, Tom

I've seen the same issue with search on the front page. I assume you are redirecting ~/Default.aspx to ~/? If so, that might the issue in common.
Take a look at other pages without left columns; you're seeing the same issue, depending how your masterpage is set up for those individual sections (cart, search, etc.). The culprit looks to be .maincontentwrapper on those pages. |

So I removed the redirect in my httpd ASAPI file (RewriteRule \/default\.aspx http\:\/\/www\.kataaro\.com [I,RP]) and the search works fine on the home page now. Thanks. Is anything harmed by removing this redirect? I don't notice any problems.
Also, any suggestions on the search page Title and Footer not aligning properly. I still can't track this issue down.
