I believe the recommendation here long ago was Sightmax for integration with BV?

We're considering doing a hosted solution the first month or two to make sure we like the program, than buying it after a month or two trial. LivePerson seems very popular - and very expensive.

How difficult are these to integrate?

Thanks

We integrated SightMax for a hosting customer of ours recently; the only thing I didn't like was it required an install of the SightMax app on the web server, but after carefully investigating the software, we determined it would virtually no impact on the server itself. So far it's running great with no issues. The install took less than 10 minutes; the initial config of the SightMax software took another 10 minutes, and a few image customizations took a half-hour or so. Integrating the code into the site was a snap as we just inserted it into the respective column contents as an HTML block.

One word of note, be sure to reference all href's with a secure href call, or your secure checkout will throw SSL errors.

I think I posted on the other thread, I've tried many.

LivePerson - way too expensive per month, and I hated the downtime.
Xigla - couldn't get it to work without affecting my site's performance
SightMax - dream come true... works all the time, our operators love using it, and the one-time price is perfect!

Angela,

What kind of trouble were you seeing with Xigla? I've been having issues and we're wondering if that is it. we've moved it to its own app pool and that seems to have helped.

We use LivePerson on our own site; have had it for about 7 years; we haven't seen a moment of downtime at all with this product. we stick with LP as we are locked into the rates back from our first year. I agree - current rates are extremely high compared to te other products that are now available.

Hello,

I've helped a number of folks implement Live Person (Timpani) and I've not heard of ANY down time issues! It starts at $99.00 a month, I doubt that's cost prohibitive if you're paying someone to sit there and actually respond.

It's not free software. But is is very good software for a reasonable cost per user.

For the volume of our store, $99/month is a lot of money that could be better spent on PPC advertising. And that is only for one operator. Whereas Xigla and Sightmax are paid for in a few months. I'm having trouble with Xigla and frankly don't feel like even shelling out $400 for Sightmax -- they should have unlimited operators if you are purchasing their software.

I think we're going to do the hosted solution the first month to make sure whichever package we get works like we want.

Just my quick 2 cents! We are purchased Sightmax license and is hosting it in our server. Have been using Live Person for many years and paying every month. Sightmax provides an excellent more cost effective alternative. More features even than Live Person. The team at Sightmax are just top rate.

I used LivePerson for 2 years, it worked well, but I spent a small fortune for it!

I switched to SightMax - it is almost as good, and the purchase cost was the same as 2 months of LivePerson.
