Why is the search function here so bad? about 9 out or 10 times it times out or gives an error. that really needs to be fixed.

I can't understand why this isn't being fixed..but a helpful tip is to search any date and it will work.

Its terrible - 9 times out of 10 - i have to spend hours finding something i found some time ago that i need.

mostly time out errors!

On a nice snowy day - when things slow down and Marcus you are working from home...... plz fix the issue - sp's <smile>

Probably have to wait for the new forum software. In the meantime, use the "Any Date" (Like C indicated) and you will not time-out everytime.

I found that if you select "Any Date" it will return a search -- you choose any other timeframe and it times out.

I'd like to see another sort:

Search text in posts only,

Search text in tread titles only,

Search both text and thread titles.
Optimists invent airplanes,
Pessimists buy parachutes.

we inherited the search code when we bought dotnetbb. We're working on a much improved search mechanism for the next update to dotnetbb.
