BVC5 SP2

The "Buy One Get One" promotion doesn't work on products that have variations (aka choices). I think this is because the individual variations have unique SKUa that can't be selected for the promotion.

In other words, if you have a product with the SKU of WIDGET, and it has variations of "Small" and "Large", those variations will have SKUs of WIDGETA and WIDGETB respectively. Those WIDGETA and WIDGETB SKUs are not selectable when setting up the "Buy On Get One" promotion.

Note: Turning inventory off doesn't make any difference.

Steps to Repro:

Create a Widget

Create 2 product variations for the Widget

Go to Marketing / Buy One Get One / New

Add the Widget to both the "Products which have to be purchased" and "Products which will be discounted" sections (to cause a discount when 2 are purchased).

Go to the store / select the widget / select a product variation / add to cart.

Notice that the price is not discounted

Note: This behavior also occurs when different products are used in the Products which have to be purchased" and "Products which will be discounted" sections.

Just tested on an SP3 site. Bug does not occur on SP3.

Btw, this is not in the "fix list" at http://forums.bvcommerce.com/default.aspx?f=88&m=51470

Sorry, this was fixed in SP3 Beta 3 and so would not have been in the list of fixes. It was caught and fixed late.

Thanks Justin.

Btw, I wasn't complaining about the fix list. Just wanted to doc it so that if anybody else who ran into it, they'd know it's fixed in sp3.
