Another problem -- if you edit an order, it changes the date stamp and changes its position on the Order Page -- i.e., they are no longer by Order ID. You could have an order that came in yesterday that you edit and now it has a date stamp of today and current time. This doesn't help if you are trying make a case for getting orders out within a certain timeframe.

I'd assume that having an order edited and approved today but still showing yesterday's date would be a bigger problem. How could you prove you shipped within 24 hours (or whatever) if the order kept the old 'pre-edit' timestamp - perhaps from days earlier?

'round here, an order isn't an order until it's done being checked for errors, edited/approved/captured. That's when the clock starts.

You always have your Admin email to show when the order came in -- now you have a different date and time than the customer has, which I think can be a legal issue -- plus now I edit an order this morning -- yesterday I had 28 orders, now I only have 27 and the totals change.

I suppose it could be made an option, but I want to see the orders by Order ID and the time they came in -- especially when I'm only editing the order because of a bug in the system that caused the price to be calculated wrong and I have to credit the customer.

Yes, this is a problem. We have found the issue and it has to do with an "update" statement in some of the tax code that runs when you click "Recalculate Product Prices" on the edit order screen. This will be resolved in SP3.1, which will be out next week.

What is strange is I edited an order this morning - one of the same orders I edited the other day when it changed the date stamp, and this morning it did NOT change the date. The only change to the store I made was to add the "Customers who Purchased" add-on (including caplink's updated version). It's very strange but all of a sudden editing orders doesn't change the date.

Well, the only time we saw the order time change is when you hit the "recalculate product prices" or "calculate offers" on the product edit page.

I didn't think I had done that before but perhaps I did as I was having to reset the prices back to what they were supposed to be on Volume Pricing changing.
