An order came in with a zip that had 6 digits - obviously wrong. The shopper should have seen a message to correct this. US city = 5 or 5-4. Canada = 3-3. If we can't verify the accuracy, at least we can count digits.
I thought the zip code stuff with Fed Ex had been worked out.
Maybe a third party programmer can step up and make a real-time zip code verifier. (Andy, there's a fiver in it for you) Is there a service we can susbscribe to for maintenance/matching? Fed Ex and others have a dandy.... zip code first, pick your city from a drop list, state is picked for you. Done. Can't get messed up. If the city fails to show up in the list, the SHOPPER corrects the zip code. No dashes, mistakes, mis-directed packages. THEN it goes out for shipping rates.
Can't blame this one on Fed Ex. GIGO |
