Is anyone else using Shipper with 3.1? Ever since the update Shipper won't work -- I've emailed Andy, but of course being a holiday I thought it best to put out something here to see if others have the same issue. |

Joe, It looks like one of your active orders is referencing a deleted product. The latest build of Shipper Service for BVC5 includes some code to work around this problem. You can download the latest build from http://structured-solutions.net/downloads. |

Andy -- you were right -- only it was an order that was already shipped -- for some reason it was showing two items as unshipped that I had deleted -- order was a month old, not sure how those items were marked as undeleted. I tried to pull up the Shipping tab for that order and it kept throwing an error. Edited the order and removed the items and Shipper works -- but your new version did not work until I did that.

If the order only contains deleted products, then it is possible 3.1 is not even returning the order as unshipped. In that case you will need to manually process the order in BVC5. If you send me your Shipper connection info, I can take a closer look. |

The order contained a whole bunch of items, including two that were deleted, all items were shipped in one shipment over a month ago. So there was no need to process the order, but if I needed to I could not as it threw an error trying to open the shipping tab until I deleted those items from the order. I guess this is a bug in 3.1 that I need to report. |

Joe, if you were the shopper signing in and going back to look at an old order possibly to re-order, what would you see? Do all of the items show up?
Be nice if a discontinued item could be flagged as 'discontinued', but still visible in an order's history. |

At this point the customer would see the order less those two items because I deleted them from the order, had to -- it was the only way to clear up the error that was preventing Shipper to run. |

Joe,
I see the same behavior in BVC5 SP3.1...if you delete a product or product variation, you can not display the "Shipping" page (ShipOrder.aspx) in BVC5.
Unfortunately, the workaround I devised for SP2 does not work with SP3.1. On the other hand, I never like the workaround because I had to make so many assumptions about the product (that is was shippable, did not ship separately, and shipped from the site). So I just posted a new build of Shipper Service for BVC5 that will simply ignore orders that include deleted products or product variations. |

Thanks Andy -- I'm assuming when you say "ignore orders" -- it only ignores orders marked as "shipped" -- what happens if someone orders something that is marked "Removed from Store" -- then it is only inactive and should not throw an error, but what if you do delete it before it is shipped? |

If the order includes a deleted product or product variation, the entire order will not show up in Shipper, even if the shipping status is unshipped or partially shipped.
For example, let's say you have product ABC. Someone orders ABC along with several other products. If you delete the ABC product before the order is completely shipped, the order will not appear in Shipper. In that case you will need to process the order using BV Admin.
If you mark the product Inactive instead of deleting it, the order will show up in Shipper. |
