Display Message for "Show as Out of Stock (Allow Orders)"

Is there a way to display a message to the customer when adding an item to thier cart that either takes a product to out of stock or that is already out of stock. Something that would let them know that thier order or part of the order will be backordered?
I know that if i have it set to "Show as Out of Stock (Do Not Allow Orders), it will adjust the quantity to fit what is in stock, and allerts the customer that thier quantity was adjusted to fit what was in stock.
I would like something similar for the "Show as Out of Stock (Allow Order), but would just let them decide if they want to adjust thier quantity or allow the backorder.

Dan, I thought you asked this question before -- but yes, I had Scott Mech do a customization for me that shows the customer if there is going to be a backorder situation and explains it to them when they add to cart. If you use this product: http://www.birdsafestore...upreme--64oz__GFBS2.aspxYou will see that it says 1 is available but says out of stock -- that's confusing, but only because of the way BV does "low stock" -- I want it to inform me BEFORE it gets to zero, but the customer can at least see there is 1 available. If you add 2 to the cart you will see the message generated on the Cart Page. |

Yes i did ask something very similar about displaying the inventory. I broadened the question this time.
I guess I will have to need to add that to the list of customization i need done.
